To launch Nike’s England kit, the team crafted a fully realized CGI footballer that brings the Aeroswift Technology narrative to life. The asset balances high-fidelity fabric shading and detailing with performance-optimized geometry, ensuring it runs smoothly within AKQA’s mobile app and related interactive environments. The result is a cinematic yet responsive reveal that translates Nike’s design story into an intuitive, touch-driven experience.
Working with AKQA and the Nike Design team, the team’s goal was to visualize and animate the Aeroswift features on a full-body digital athlete while meeting the constraints of real-time interactivity. We aligned topology, UVs, and texture density with the app’s technical requirements, preserved Nike’s design language, and delivered a single asset suite capable of powering both the mobile reveal and broader interactive experiences without sacrificing visual fidelity.
The team modelled a clean, deformation-ready mesh in Maya, ensuring reliable articulation for reveal poses and motion. Texturing was authored with high-resolution UVs and optimized atlases in Photoshop to deliver crisp fabric, ventilation, and trim details within strict mobile memory budgets. Lookdev and animation emphasized kit construction and feature callouts timed to user-driven interactions, while Nuke and After Effects handled multipass compositing, UI-aligned overlays, and final colour matching. Throughout, they iterated exports and refined geometry to integrate seamlessly with AKQA’s app pipeline.
The app-ready CGI kit integrated cleanly into AKQA’s interactive experience, preserving high detail while meeting performance targets. Visual consistency was maintained across the mobile reveal and associated environments, and the delivered assets established a reusable foundation for future kit stories, updates, and platform variations.
